FAIL. I was supposed to attend an event tonight, the US Girls August Awards 2011. But since it rained so hard, I decided not to go. I would just risk my time and effort knowing heavy rains can keep me stranded or stuck somewhere. Last 2009, the same thing happened to me, but it was worse. I was supposed to attend the Candy Fair 2009. That was the day Ondoy hit Manila. Well, we were not informed that the heavy rain was already a typhoon. So I bravely conquered the flooded streets of Espanya, thinking I can just get away with it and safely get to Ortigas for the fair after. But I was wrong. When I was already at P.Noval Street, the flood (which was already above ankle but below the knees) was no joke. And in the middle of my “journey” in conquering the floods, I felt an electric current running through my legs (if I placed the words and ideas right haha) which got me terrified. Luckily, my friend’s unit was just across the street so I had to ride a pedicab just to be able to cross the street. And there, I stayed in my friend’s unit for 2 nights because the rain just kept the UST area like a waterworld. So there. I just do not know what always keeps me from attending this events. It’s a super big SAYANG, you know?
But sometimes I still believe something’s bigger coming way. Well, I hope.
